While it may be a stretch to say the Triumph Mountain Cub was wholly responsible for the making of everyone's all time favorite motorcycle movie, On Any Sunday, there is no doubt that this 1967 Triumph T20M Mountain Cub owned by the movies director, Bruce Brown, played a major role in his cinematic ode to motorcycle sport.

Brown, a self taught filmmaker and avid surfer, hit it big in 1966 with, The Endless Summer, a tale of two surf bums who traveled the globe insearch of the perfect wave. Brown, now with a flush bank account, traded in his Honda 50cc step-through for a Triumph Mountain Cub. The purchase led to a new passion of desert enduro riding and stemmed a friendship with fellow rider and actor, Steve McQueen, and eventually to On Any Sunday, the semi-documentary about the pastime both men loved.

This Mountain Cub, previously owned by Brown, shows just 1377 miles on the odometer and remains extremely original. The bike was acquired by a family friend shortly before the filmmakers death in 2017. The bike has been sitting idle for a number of years and will require some re-conditioning. It appears to be complete and the engine turns over freely. A copy of a Bill of Sale signed by Brown will accompany the motorcycle.
