1966 Ford Thunderbird

For a short three year run, 1964-1966 the Thunderbird produced the fourth generation Thunderbird and was restyled for a more “Formal” look to compete with the likes of the Pontiac Grand Prix and Chrysler 300. Ford sold a lot of these with total numbers at 236,613. In 1966 the 7.0 Liter 345 HP 428 beast was offered pushing 0-60 times under 10 seconds which was a pretty good feat with such a big and heavy car. This particular cool driver appears to be all original with the exception of the re-stuffed and newly covered seats that turned out very well. The body has blemishes and some rust popping in spaces, the paint has some water marks, is faded and has typical wear for a vehicle of this age. The underside has some crust but floor pans look good and so does the frame. Mechanically this car starts up and idles better than anything else I have in here. It goes down the road very smooth and strait with no pulling or jerking or rattles or clunks. This is not a leaky smoky piece, it is very presentable as a driver and pulls strong going down the road. All the lights and gauges are in working order as I am typing this. It has some dealer records, spare parts and service manuals. These interiors on these cars are some of my favorites of all time. Super comfortable and stylish.
