1955 Ford Fairlane

First generation Fairlane was for model year 1955 and 1956 and would come in to replace the Crestline as Fords premier full-sized offering. There were six different body styles offered with a few different engine options. The four-door town sedan was the most popular Ford sedan sold that year with 254,000 being sold with a retail price of $1,960 which is about $21,000 in todays dollars. This particular unit is far from your ordinary grandpas Ford. The build was to replicate how they would have looked had been modified in the 1960's. Some of it is dated but I will tell you this is one of the easiest to start older cars I have in my shop, it shifts, drives down the road and stops very easily. The paint is very shiny and good as is the chrome and trim. The door poppers are buttons on the car itself without batteries and fobs. The car did sit for a small period of time a couple years ago and the now owners has recently just gone through some of the mechanics like, fluids, belts, lines, fuel system etc…It was just driven here from over an hour or so away and handled beautifully. Has vintage a/c and heat, good radio, all lights and gauges work as they should. This is an all around really nice car for the money.
