1991 Chevrolet K5 Blazer

GR Auto Gallery of Indy is pleased to present this 1991 Chevrolet Blazer for your consideration. This Blazer started life in California and stayed there until about 4 years ago. The current owner has put in a lot effort to bring this Blazer back to it's original condition. To start with, it's a clean and rust free body as you can see from the pictures. The frame was sanded smooth and then painted. The truck has been professionally rust proofed and undercoated. The Blazer has some nice features such as; power steering, power brakes, power windows, power locks, cruise control, 4x4, cloth seats 2004 Tahoe, the driver's seat is power. Sound comes from a Sony Bluetooth stereo, JBL speakers, and a Kicker sub under the passenger seat. It has LLoyds mats at the front seats, rear seats, and cargo area. Both front window motors were replaced, The tailgate window is power and works without any issues. The interior has new door panels, dash pad, carpet, ect. The stock 350 was upgraded to a Five Star Engine Exchange 383 that has less 1500 miles. Other upgrades include; Hooker Exhaust Manifolds, new serpentine front drive system. water pump, spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, oil cooler, valve covers, and air cleaner. A Holley TBI unit was installed and the Blazer retains the factory computer. It still works with the factory controls and can run on 87 Octane. The exhaust is 2.5" pipes with Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. The transmission is a 700R4 that mates to the engine with a Coan Engineering stall convertor.

The 1973–75 K5 Blazers were equipped with a removable convertible top. In 1976, a half-cab design was introduced and used until 1991. The second generation K5 models incorporated the rear hatch glass and tailgate into a single unit, which allowed the glass panel to retract inside of the tailgate by use of a manual crank mounted on the tailgate or an electric motor activated by a key-operated switch on the tailgate and a dash-mounted switch. The weight of the large glass panel was rumored to be a liability as the manual crank gears wore prematurely and the electric motor was prone to frequent overheating and subsequent failure. This also included the electric motor drive cable which goes to the window regulator to the motor (similar in design to a speedometer cable), which usually would fail under heavy abuse. Another feature of the K5 Blazer tailgate was the safety switch connected to the electric motor which prevented the rear window from being raised if the tailgate was unlatched.
