The GTO started as a trim option since GM wasn't ready to commit to a car away from the mpg/family thinking….but then the high sales numbers forced them to make the GTO in to its own model. In 1968, GM redesigned it's A-body line with more curvaceous, semi-fastback styling. The front from the 2nd generation looks very different with side by side headlights and the “Endura” front bumper (that they famously advertised by hitting with a hammer to no effect). This '70 GTO is a great example of the classic muscle cars sitting pretty in Atoll Blue Poly with matching blue interior. It's powered by a strong 455ci V8 paired with a Muncie 4 Speed manual transmission and rear end with a 3.42 gear. This GTO underwent a very thorough restoration several years ago. It features power steering added by the customer with a March Performance bracket and pulley set up, factory bucket seats, new BF Goodrich tires on the original factory Rally rims, QA1 Coil Over shocks and springs were added at all 4 corners. This beautiful GTO is a great driver to have at the ready in the garage for a cruise or a show. Classic muscle like this never goes out of style!
