1929 Ford Model A Roadster

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1929 Ford Model A Roadster for your consideration. Ford powered the Model A with a 201ci L-Head inline-4 motor which was mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. The motor, when new, produced 40 horsepower and gave the car a top speed of roughly 65 miles per hour. This example only has 3k miles on the engine since it was completely rebuilt. In addition, it also has a toggle switch to control the turn signals.

This Model A is one of the most beautiful to come through our doors. The two-tone brown exterior creates a timeless appearance. Adding to the color palette are the brown leather interior and chrome found throughout the vehicle. Overall this Model A is very elegant. The yellow steel spoke wheels are wrapped in gum-dipped tires further complementing the overall appearance. This example runs and drives well and is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.

Henry Ford spent most his first years fighting off the idea of changing the Model T which produced and sold over 15 million models before his son, Edsel, finally convinced him that some new features and comforts were necessary. On May 25th, 1927, Ford announced the shutdown of the plant and production of the Model A and began retooling the entire factory to begin its new and improved version, the Model A. They completed this process in almost 6 months and had cars pumping out quickly which was only possible due to Edsel secretly marshaling the design and sketch team to begin working on the new model prior to Henry ever even approving such a change.
