Porsche developed the 914 as a replacement for its beloved 912, the four cylinder version of the 911. The 914 was intended to be a mass produced vehicle that would be built in conjunction with Volkswagen. When unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 1969, it was somewhat unexpected as it did not resemble a Porsche or a Volkswagen. The car, however, with its mid-engine configuration, demonstrated balance and handling capabilities that few have achieved and packaged it into an affordable sports car that would appeal to the masses. This special 914with the 2.0L represents the last year of production for the car.

Offered here is a very nice and good running 1976 Porsche 914 with the 2.0L 4cyl. This car was sold new out of Valley Imports in Fargo North Dakota and serviced by the selling dealer for many years and then was owned by a man in Connecticut for about 6.5yrs. Vehicle is draped in the Diamond Silver Metallic paint with black leather interior that is complimented by the appearance package that gave you the center gauge cluster, dual horns, fog lights, and center armrest. Vehicle retains a stock setup with an upgraded stereo that was done in the 90's. The 5spd manual transmission is fun to drive and synchro's all appear to be solid and shifts properly. Vehicle has a had some recent service that includes; newer carpet kit, brake caliper rebuilt, fuel pump rebuilt, new fuel lines, Bursch muffler replaced, master brake cylinder replaced and new water drip tray installed. Most of this work was done in the past year and only about 1k miles have been added to this car in the past 6yrs. According to previous owner the mileage is believed to be accurate.

The 914 represents a special segment for Porsche and one that is only going up in value as the 911 has become mostly unobtainable for most these 914's with the larger 2.0L are a great alternative and fun to drive as well as providing an open air experience. Vehicle is nicely sorted and in overall above average condition with some imperfections that can easily be corrected. Vehicle comes with clean title, service records dating back to 1977 and an appetite for adventure.
