1966 Mercedes-Benz 230SL Convertible

A single repaint on an otherwise unmolested Pagoda is pretty hard to find. This W113 was delivered new in Germany, spent several years there until being shipped to the US in which I believe based on some paperwork was around 1981. The car was then sold to its second owner in CA in 1983 for a short stint before being purchased by the third owner, a woman in VT where it remained in her care until two years ago. I believe it to be around a 37 year ownership where there are plenty of service records to indicate this car was cared for and loved with numerous receipts for major services including the last one at the tune of $8,000 a couple years ago and a tune-up from the current owner who bought the car through auction a year ago at more than $2,000. The convertible top is newer, the hard-top is original and in decent shape. Both operate as they should and seal as they should. This is a German spec car with no A/C. The interior is mostly original and in driver quality condition. Mechanically this 113 starts, idles and goes down the road very nicely with no noises, smells or rattles. It shifts and brakes very well and has plenty of power to maintain highway speeds. Furthermore, this car comes with factory keys, original owners manuals and all service records including shipping paperwork from Germany. The car has been undercoated several times and appears to be rust free. The paint in my opinion is “OK” and driver quality. The interior is original, The mechanicals seem great. This is exactly how I like to see these cars, excellent drivers! These Pagodas have seen a pretty dramatic increase in the last several years with collectability and values. This car is complete and deserves to owned and enjoyed by someone who will use it and care for it.
