The Olds Toronado is known for its unique looks, well-appointed options and mostly for its stable ride with the ability to chew up massive amounts of pavement in a short amount of time. Designated as the W34 package, the Toronado GT is outfitted with Oldsmobiles legendary 455 Big Block engine producing 400 horsepower and a face ripping 500 ftlbs of torque. The power is transferred through a silky smooth 3 speed automatic transmission and applied with then innovative front wheel drive, this combination was dubbed the Unitized Power Package (UPP). These components were driven over 1.5 million test miles to verify their strength.
The Toronado GT offered here is optioned with the W34 performance package, power windows, power steering, power brakes, working clock, tilt / telescoping wheel steering wheel, original front floor mat, front and rear bumper guards, not installed but included, and is outfitted with authentic, optional aluminum wheels. Prior to coming to Michigan in 2011, the car resided in southern California and has been amazingly preserved. It remains highly original in all areas although we believe the car has received one repaint in its original code 53 Gold. The car runs and drives extremely well featuring just 50124 miles that we believe to be original. The car possesses the same drivability it did in the early 70's and can be used every day if chosen.
