1986 Toyota MR2

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1986 Toyota MR2 Coupe for purchase. The MR2 (mid-engine, rear-wheel drive, two-seater) started off as a mid-engine concept car that was a great daily driver (good mpg's), but also fun to drive. Through the development process each prototype became more and more of a sports car and testing concentrated more on Formula one race tracks. The reveal was a big surprise as Toyota was only known for their family and economical vehicles. Some rumors claim that the MR2 is the Lotus M90 that never went in to production especially since the suspension and handling were designed with help by Lotus engineer Roger Becker. Either way, the finished MR2 won many awards and became a true sports car with great gas mileage while this is a very compact car the interior cabin feels quite spacious.

This '86 MR2 is an awesome 2-owner, low mileage stock survivor. It came out of Florida and features just over 42,000 original miles. It's powered by the original 1587cc inline 4 cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It is essentially all stock except for the radio. It features front vented disc brakes, rear solid disc brakes, independent struts & coil springs suspension, air conditioning, and retractable headlights. This car is amazingly clean inside, outside, and underneath. This has to be one of the best MR2's you can find, and these cars are a steal for how much fun they are to drive.
