Volkswagen has been producing the vans since 1950, and over the years it has proved to be a fantastic “adventure seeker”. The 1971 is referred to as the Type 2, or the “Bay window.” 1971 was an important year for the upright motor, introducing a dual port motor with 58 horsepower instead of 50 in previous models. Front power assisted disc brakes were also introduced in 1971.

The brakes were also completely replaced a few years ago. The canvas camper top has also been replaced.
