Harvested from the Pacific Northwest, this exceptional 1971 Jeepster SC-1 Sport Commando was recently acquired from the family of its original owner. A true survivor, this rare and highly sought-after model remains in its original configuration and shows just 11,322 miles—a remarkable testament to its preservation over the years.

In 1967, Kaiser Jeep Corporation introduced the Jeepster Commando series—a stylish, sporty 4WD with a 101-inch wheelbase, taking design cues from the classic 1940s Jeepster. Offered in various configurations, including a convertible, station wagon, roadster, and pickup, the Jeepster Commando was designed to be a versatile and rugged alternative to the traditional Jeep lineup. Available powertrains included the dependable 134 cubic-inch F-head four-cylinder and the powerful 225 cubic-inch “Dauntless” V-6.

By 1971, Kaiser Jeep was in its final year of production before the company was acquired by AMC, making this model year particularly significant. Among the special editions released, the SC-1 Sport Commando stands out as one of the rarest. Produced for less than six months at the end of the model year, the SC-1 came standard with the Dauntless V-6, a factory radio, and a roof rack. All SC-1 models were painted in striking Butterscotch Gold, accented by a white hardtop and exclusive SC-1 stripe package. Though records vary, it is widely believed that fewer than 200 SC-1 units were produced, making this a true collector's piece.

This Jeepster remains in survivor condition, retaining its original components and patina while being mechanically refreshed to remain roadworthy. In the last five years, it has received new tires, a carburetor tune, new spark plugs, and refreshed brakes, ensuring it runs and drives as intended.

If you're looking for an iconic and increasingly rare piece of Jeep history, this 1971 Jeepster SC-1 Sport Commando is a must-have. Whether you're a collector, an off-road enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates classic 4x4s, this Jeepster is an opportunity to own a unique and limited-production vehicle with a rich heritage. Don't miss your chance to bring this rare gem home.
