The Chevelle was a muscle car built by GM and was one of Chevrolets most successful nameplates. It was a mid-sized car intended to compete with the Ford Fairlane. The Chevelle SS represented Chevrolet's entry into the muscle car battle in 1964 and lasted through the1972 when rising gas prices and government bureaucracy ended the once exciting world of street performance fun.
