1980 Saab 96GL Jubileum

We are pleased to bring to market this extremely rare 1980 Saab 96GL Jubileum Edition. These are nearly impossible to find or duplicate with the overall condition of this car. It is 1 of 300 final edition Jubileum models, which marked the end of 96 production after a successful 20yr run throughout the world.

All the final 300 cars were finished in Brilliant Light Blue Metallic exterior with a light blue plush interior and 10-spoke alloy wheels. None of which were imported to the USA. Saab sold the 96 in the states through 1973, with production continuing in Europe until 1980.

This Saab 96GL is a European spec, including rectangular halogen headlights with wipers, speedometer, a black trunk spoiler, plus various badging and blackout trim not seen on earlier U.S. versions along with Saab 99 style rubber bumpers and Saab 99 style front seats. It also has Swedish language labels on the dash for the headlight switch.

Powering this unique car is a Ford of Germany V4 displacing 1500cc producing 68HP through a 4-speed manual column shifter. The Transmission also has freewheeling, which allows the car to be shifted without using the clutch once underway.

This 96 Jubileum is 95% original and stock, having been repainted once in Poland in the correct factory hue. It was imported to the states in 2015 from northern Sweden.

This car runs and drives nicely and goes thru all gears with ease. Vehicle comes with the original owners manual (Swedish), workshop manual, extra keys, and various spare parts.
