GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1965 Factory Five Shelby Cobra for consideration. This is a one owner vehicle and is not a donor-car build - it was built by a Ford Engineer and a GM designer. Features include; Ford Motorsports 302 crate motor with aluminum GT40 heads, Holley 650 CFM carb, Edelbrock aluminum intake, MSD electronic ignition and blaster coil, ceramic coated headers and side pipes, 5 speed T5 manual transmission, 8.8 inch Ford four-link rear axle with 3.55 posi, 4 wheel disc brakes with large Mustang Cobra front discs, drilled and slotted rotors, four corner coil-overs, aluminum fuel tank, leather dash and trunk panel, carpeted trunk, rack and pinion steering, custom wheels spec'd for this car (20x10 rear and 18x8 front), burnished and clear-coated aluminum panels, fiberglass body professionally prepared and finished by a fiberglass specialist (infrared heat lamp used to remove liquid resins from fiberglass and reskinned) unlike other Cobras, no surprises will bubble through this paint. This is an extremely well-done build with no expenses spared; it has never been driven in the rain and has been stored in a heated garage off the ground. The owner has provided us with all build documents and photos through the process. Please call or email us today for more information on this 1965 Factory Five Shelby Cobra.

Perhaps no other American manufacturer gained more international recognition than Carrol Shelby. His thirst for performance and the victory circle has made him a household name in all aspects of motorsports. The A/C Cobra is Shelby's crowning achievement. Large horsepower integrated with a lightweight tubular chassis and sexy hand-built aluminum body, with a partnership of AC Motorcars and Ford, Shelby's AC 427 Cobra thundered onto the scene in 1965 offering a big block, high horse power edition over the already popular 289 small block version that came on scene two years prior. To this day, the look, sound, power, and feel of the Cobra remains on the bucket list of many motoring enthusiasts and long before original examples far began exceeding 7 figures in value, independent manufacturing companies and talented performance car builders began building replica versions of the famed Cobra.
