The Mk1 is truly a unicorn with tremendous pedigree and very limited production with just about 1500 examples being produced all for export and only roughly 1000 for the American market. In addition to its rarety the MK 1 was first debuted in the rally scene by none-other than Sir Stirling Moss with exemplary performance. This particular Iris Blue over red has been owned since 1955 by the same family, The consignor is the grand-son of the purchaser, all with long ownership history, most currently since the mid- 1990's. The car is a numbers matching with A 3012610 on the data plate and the engine. The current owner has just had a full mechanical restoration completed with a total cost of almost $17,000. Those receipts are included and can viewed upon request. The first major restoration was completed close to 30 years ago with paint starting to show wear as the interior. This Alpine starts on a dime, shifts awesome with its fun 4-speed column shifter and goes down the road as it was new. This would be a great car to leave as is and use for touring or a excellent platform for a body and interior restoration as the Mechanicals are done.
