1957 Ford Thunderbird

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this beautifully restored 1957 Thunderbird for purchase. The 1957 Thunderbird is the last of its generation and arguably the best! Even though it moved to a Four Door Model in 1958 Ford made numerous changes to improve on it's two older siblings the 1955 & 1956. Most of the changes were styling including; a larger, stronger front bumper with rectangular parking lamps. A larger front grille was said to improve engine cooling. The shape of the front wheel cut outs was modified. New badging included chrome “Thunderbird” name scripts which were added to the front fenders, ahead of the louver decorations. Fins were becoming in and Ford was leading the pack with Shark-like tailfins added to the Thunderbird. The longer 1957 body addressed detractors who felt the storage was inadequate thus providing more luggage space. After being externally mounted in 1956, the spare tire was moved back inside the 6-inch-longer trunk. The extra length and weight improved the handling according to Ford.

This 57 Thunderbird is an immaculate restoration by one of our most discriminating clients. Our “Little Bird” is believed to be a numbers matching car from Arizona (previous Arizona title comes along as well as the custom “57” tags and previous Arizona Plates).
