1962 Chevrolet Impala SS

The 3rd generation of Impala was born for the 1961 model year. The Impala name was just a trim package in 1958, but these model years really got sales roaring. Over 100,000 Impala SS equipped cars were sold in 1962 as buyers couldn't get enough. The SS came with a beefed up suspension and several appearance upgrades that really enhance their value among collectors today. The SS package was a nice trim upgrade and most iconic part was the rear aluminum trim piece that housed the unique 6 piece taillights.

This SS has had a long history of being in the south until a recent acquisition from a customer in RI and maintained and stored properly to preserve the quality of this very clean Impala. Produced out of the Norwood, OH plant and finished in Ermine white with red vinyl interior. Vehicle comes equipped with; bucket front seats with center console, power steering, factory AM radio with front and rear speakers, power glide transmission and the desirable 283 turbo fire V8. The vehicle presents itself well with strong body lines, proper vinyl red interior, carpet set and headliner. Vehicle also has the dealer installed dual rear antennas that were fairly rare and only was available through the delivering dealer. This is truly a great buy for the person that wants the look of a classic auto without the high price of one. Lights work properly, blinkers operate correctly and the wipers function to specs. Even the cigarette lighter has a strong glow to it when used. Vehicle comes with radio manual, full spare and jack along with new trunk mat kit that is period correct.
