1985 Jaguar XJ6

The story behind the “Vanden Plas” badge for the 1985 Jaguar is a curious one. With the name it referred to a Belgian coach maker which also denoted its full list of features. On the other hand, when purchasing a “Vanden Plas” XJ6 in England during that time you wouldn't see the badge like you do in the US. Jaguar owned the Daimler brand in Europe and although this vehicle was called the “Daimler Sixes” over there, they were not allowed to use that terminology in the States. Compared to a standard XJ6, the Vanden Plas came just as you would expect, fully loaded. With great touches such as its Connolly Autolux leather, wood trim was made of burled walnut, fleecy floor mats and even the real Jaguar wire wheels.
