1971 Chevrolet Suburban

GR Auto Gallery is very excited to present this factory built Chevy Suburban Ambulance. This vehicle has some stellar history to it and now sits as a custom beach cruiser and ready for its next assignment. Sold new to the Meeker County Hospital in Colorado where it was used sparingly by the hospital as intended as an ambulance. Vehicle remained in Colorado up until 1993 where it was sold to the Meeker County Sherriff department and used as a Search and Rescue unit throughout the county and mostly for the White River National Forest area to help stranded hikers and accident victims in the Colorado Mountains. Vehicle remained in service till 2014 where it was sold to collector in Indiana that removed most of the items and removed the high top roof and installed a vinyl roof that is easily removed and makes this multi-purpose suburban into the ultimate beach cruiser.

This truck remains rust free and mileage is only 15k miles on this very rare and unique ½ ton Suburban. Most of these large Suburban's were the ¾ ton which do not drive as nice and are not nearly as nicely appointed. Vehicle is in great shape with slight patina on the paint, but runs and drives effortlessly. Vehicle engages into all gears with ease and steers and drives down the road in style. The updated 31in tires and upgraded alloy wheels give it a clean look and the beach themed seat covers complete the look. No matter what your plans may be, this is a very clean, non-rusty, 4x4 suburban with only 15k miles!

This vehicle was optioned nicely from the factory and comes with original factory brochure, several registrations from the Meeker county, manuals and build tag on glove box. Factory options include; power steering, 350 V8, body side moldings, below eye line mirrors, aux battery, AM push button radio, tinted glass, dome lamp, turbo hyrdra-matic transmission, and factory A/C. Further enhancements include; camper style mirrors, Warn locking hubs, custom front and rear bumper, spot lights, rear barn doors and two tone paint. The vehicle is awesome the way it is, but if you wanted to bring it back to its original look – we have just about everything that was removed and could be put back as an authentic Ambulance. Lights, horns, sirens, cot, cabinets, and many more things are here if you would like them. We personally agree that the way it is now will provide many fun times ahead for any family that wants something fun to enjoy and cruise to and from the beach, mountains or whatever your activity may be…this is the one to make it happen. Room for 9 and plenty of gear and coolers.
