Perhaps no other American manufacturer gained more international recognition than Carrol Shelby. His thirst for performance and the victory circle has made him a household name in all aspects of motorsports. The A/C Cobra is Shelby's crowning achievement. Large horsepower integrated with a lightweight tubular chassis and sexy hand built aluminum body, With a partnership of AC Motorcars and Ford, Shelby's AC 427 Cobra thundered onto the scene in 1965 offering a big block, high horse power edition over the already popular 289 small block version that came on scene two years prior. To this day, the look, sound, power and feel of the Cobra remains on the bucket list of many motoring enthusiasts and long before original examples far began exceeding 7 figures in value, small independent manufacturing companies such as Everett-Morrison, began building replica versions of the famed Cobra. Everett-Morrison was founded in 1983 when Buford Everett purchased an original mold of the Cobra from Dean Morrison. Since, the company began producing and refining there quality tubular chassis and body kits all while maintaining their reputation as a leader in the industry.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to this very attractive, 1965 Shelby Cobra build on an Everett-Morrison prepared body and chassis. This Cobra features Everett-Morrison's 427 S/C tubular chassis and body. The car is powered by a 5 liter Ford V8 fed by an Edelbrock 4 barrel carb and intake, hooked to a Borg Warner T-5 5-speed manual transmission an independent 3.73 ratio rear end. Other highlights include: Coil over adjustable suspension in all four corners, aluminum radiator, electric fan, headers with side exhaust, Halibrand style wheels, chrome bumpers with bumperettes, wind wings, full tonneau, dual roll hoops, sport seats, upholstered dash, Autometer gauges, Wilwood Brakes, wood steering wheel, optional hood scoop, Cobra 427 badging, door pockets, trunk mounted battery, carpeted trunk area, power steering and serpentine system. The car was purchased direct from Everett-Morrison in 2004 and stayed with its original owner until our recent acquisition. Unfortunately, shortly after completion, an illness incurred and the car was forced to long-term storage with very little use. Only 11 miles have been put on this car since its completion. The car has been recently serviced and is ready for immediate use and enjoyment. Car comes with Everett-Morrison assembly guide.
