GR Auto Gallery is excited to present this 1968 Pontiac GTO Coupe for purchase. The GTO started as a trim option since GM wasn't ready to commit to a car away from the mpg/family thinking….but then the high sales numbers forced them to make the GTO in to its own model. In 1968, GM redesigned its A-body line with more curvaceous, semi-fastback styling. The front from the 2nd generation looks very different with side by side headlights and the “Endura” front bumper (that they famously advertised by hitting with a hammer to no effect). The goat was full on muscle and the '68 GTO is one of the highest sought after classic muscle cars from Detroit's greatest era.
This '68 GTO was a Fremont, California built car and has amazing curb appeal in Verdoro Green with black interior, endure front bumper, and grille with retractable headlight covers. This car with bucket seats and fun 4-speed manual transmission looks and feels the part of classic American muscle. This car is powered by a NOM 400ci V8 engine to match the 4-speed transmission (Originally a Hydramatic Transmission). It also features a new clutch, 3:73 posi rear end, power steering, power brakes, working air conditioning, Hurst shifter, hood tachometer, and more! This car is a true GTO and originally had a white vinyl top and a parchment interior. This car is a ton of fun to drive and is an excellent example of the famous muscle line.
