1978 Dodge Lil Red Express

GR Auto Gallery is proud to present this 1978 Dodge Lil' Red Express pickup truck for purchase. At the time the Lil' Red Express was built it was the fastest American vehicle at the time from 0 to 100 mph. Yes, you read that correctly. In the late '70's government emissions standards relatively killed all muscle in cars. Dodge decided to rebel with the “Adult Toys” line that also included the “Warlock” and the “Midnight Express”. The Lil' Red Express had a special High Performance 360 C.I. 4-barrel small block engine code (EH1) which was a modified version of the 360 police engine (E58) producing 225 net horsepower @ 3800 RPM. The package also included Hemi style mufflers with a crossover pipe breathing through 2 chrome stacks located behind the cab, a special 727 transmission and 3.55:1 rear gearing. These trucks are mean and certainly stand out in the crowd as rare, bold American production trucks.
This truck was recently freshened with new paint and engine work. It is powered by the original engine and transmission. The engine was recently extensively gone through and other recent work including new gaskets, a new Edelbrock performer series 600cfm carburetor, new exhaust system, new decals, new chrome gas cap, new brakes/pads/calipers/rotors, new belts, new shocks & springs, new front motor mount, new master cylinder, and a new radio. This truck is in excellent condition. It is a head turner that is a really rare sight plus it's a lot of fun to cruise in. Not many production vehicles have this much character and such a cool story.
