1995 Mercedes-Benz SL500

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this very well kept 1995 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Roadster for consideration. It is finished in a stunning two-tone grey that Mercedes dubs “Black Pearl” with a grey interior that has been meticulously detailed. The internally coded R129 was designed by Johann Tomforde and Bruno Sacco in 1984 and was produced globally from 1989-2002. The 1995 model year brought on a number of improvements such as: the odometer was switched from mechanical to electronic, a portable cell phone with voice activated dialing became an option, clear front turn signals, and a Bose stereo was now standard.

It features a 302hp 5.0L V8 matted to a hydraulic 4-speed automatic, a fully independent suspension with front damper struts that have separate coil springs and gas-pressurized shock absorbers, triangular lower control arms with anti-dive geometry and a stabilizer bar and a 5-arm multilink in the rear with separate single-tube gas-pressurized shock absorbers and coil springs, geometry for anti-lift, anti-squat and alignment control, and a stabilizer bar. The brakes are a 2-circuit hydraulic power-assisted 4-wheel discs with ABS. It rides on 16” aluminum alloy wheels with a chrome finished on 225/55ZR15 Michelin tires. Additional features include: cruise control, headlamp washers with wipers, fog lamps, heated windshield washing system, a removable hardtop with electrically heated rear window, ADS (Adaptive Damping System), removable wind deflector, and ASR (Automatic Slip Control).

Interior appointments include: Automatic climate control, automatic day/night rearview mirror, leather seating with 10-way power seats and 3-position memory, Bose sound system, SRS with front air bags, an automatic pop-up roll bar, cell phone with voice activated dialing, a remote central locking anti-theft system, fully automatic soft top, power windows with express down, power tilt and telescoping steering wheel,

This SL500 was purchased new at RBM of Atlanta in Atlanta, GA for $91,675 ($142,717 in today's dollars!) and spent a great majority of its life in Florida until coming to Michigan in 2002. It is a 2-owner, single family, car and comes with all of the original books, manuals, keys, sales brochures and literature, and documentation. These R129 SL500's are fantastic cruisers for top down enjoyment and they are the next collectible Mercedes-Benz roadster, a ton of car for the investment!
