This Mach 1 is equipped with the J-Code 429 Super Cobra Jet with functional Ram Air and NASA style hood. There were a total of 1,865 429 equipped Mustangs for 1971. Of those, 1,252 were Cobra Jets and 613 were Super Cobra Jets making this example 1 of 613 equipped with the J-Code 429 Super Cobra Jet with Ram Air. It is matted to a C6 automatic with a 9” rear-end with 3.25 gear.

It is finished in vibrant Code-D Grabber Yellow with matte black hood stripe and a Code 5A Black vinyl interior with sport bucket seats. This is a 3-owner car that was purchased new in Nashville, Tennessee. After spending a number of years in Tennessee (at least until 1984) it changed hands and went south to Florida until coming to Michigan to be with its third caretaker roughly 4 years ago. It underwent a complete rotisserie restoration in 2001 and still shows as fresh as the day it was completed.
