After dominating drag strips across the country duing the early 60's, Pontiac added a new twist to performance in 1964. To compliment the big iron Catalina's, Bonneville's and Super Duties, Pontiac introduced a large motor, large motor, into its smaller, lighter weight Lemans and Tempest. The formula was simple, the performance was amazing. The GTO was born. Soon, all other American manufacturers would follow suit creating the most exciting time in American Automotive Manufacturing, the Muscle Car era.

The 1964 Pontiac LeMans offered here has been upgraded to a GTO sometime after its initial delivery. The car is powered its non-original 389 / 325 horspower V8 cast on December 18, 1964. The power is transferred via a Muncie 4 speed manual transmission. The car features GTO Trim, newer dual exhaust, chrome bumpers, new correct silver paint, power steering, console, correct spinner style wheel covers, Kelly Celebrity Tires, exterior trim décor trim, new fass tank, newer brake lines, correct exhaust tips, AM factory radio, factory tach, 4 barrel carb, jack, new trunk liner, Hurst shifter and wood steering wheel.
Mechanically, the car is a proven running and driving vehicle. The car comes complete with owners manual and warranty book. What a great opportunity to own a piece of the finest automotive history America has to offer. The car that started it all.
