1986 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1986 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade 4x4 for consideration. The CJ-7 is the 7th generation of the legendary Jeep produced from 1976-1986. It features a wheelbase 10” longer than the CJ-5 and to help improve handling and stability, the rear section of the chassis was stepped out to allow the road springs and dampers to be mounted closer to the outside of the body. During its 11 year production run, 379,299 CJ-7's were built.

This Jeep is a 2 owner example that was sold new by Bowen-Fischer Motors in Muskegon, MI and has remained a Michigan vehicle since new and shows very well. It has been repainted in the past in its original red color and recently new Renegade vinyl decals installed. The seats, top, and soft doors are original and in outstandingly excellent condition. It also features the original Clarion radio, although currently not working. It features the 2.5L 150ci inline 4 cylinder producing 105hp and 132lb.ft. of torque matted to a Borg-Warner T-4 4-speed manual with a Dana 300 transfer case and rare Dana 44 axles with a 3.73 rear-end. The Dana 44 axles first came into use on the CJ-7 mid-year in 1986. It also features the original wheels that have been repainted white with newer BF Goodrich tires.

This Jeep also comes with a folder full of maintenance documentation and receipts from new, the original owner's manual, and the original radio literature from Clarion. The CJ-7 is and will continue to be legendary to the Jeep brand and with '86 Renegade being the last year, with this much originality, low ownership history, low mileage, and full documentation… you will be hard pressed to find another one this clean with this much value!
