GR Auto Gallery is very pleased to offer this resto-mod 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Roadster for purchase. The '67 Corvette Roadster is one of the most sought after collector vehicles on the planet as it was the last year for the C2 Corvette and it is also the cleanest with most of the trim removed including the badging on the hood and the flags on the fenders. New 5 slot functional vents on the side fenders and a fixed 31" radio antenna were also new. The parking brake is now located between the seats, the first time for a Corvette. Pre-1967 parking brakes were located under the dashboard. The passenger hand-hold above the glove compartment was removed this year. The seats were re-designed again for more comfort and safety. A blue "GM Mark of Excellence" sticker, which this particular car still has, was placed over the latch on the back of each of the doors as a result of a GM quality awareness program. The '67 Stingray has dual taillights instead of the previous single light and optional back-up light. The back-up lights are now mounted above the license plate.
In 1967, GM made 22,940 Corvettes with 14,436 as roadsters. This is the 16,866th Corvette produced this year and 1 of 2,324 with the M35 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission, 1 of 4,209 with side pipes, and 1 of 5,747 with power steering. This particular '67 is not your ordinary C2 Stingray. It is 1 of 2,341 finished in its factory correct code 974 Rally Red paint. It also has its factory correct code 407 red vinyl bucket seats interior. It was originally equipped with the L75 327ci 300hp/360tq V8. As part of the resto-mod build, it now sports an $11,000 502ci 8.2L V8 producing 510hp/570tq with a forged steel crank, forged pistons and connecting rods, hydraulic roller cam, hardened seats, Edelbrock dual plane intake manifold, Headman headers, a MSD ignition, Be Cool radiator, and March billet pulleys. It is also equipped with a 3.90 rear end, Vintage Air, disc brakes on all corners, 18” Intro forged aluminum wheels with Nitto 225/40 tires, a pioneer sound system, and it has been fully dynomated for sound deadening and comes with its original '67 owner's manual.
The car originally came from Washington State with all the modifications done in Utah where it was purchased and brought to Michigan. The car underwent a thorough appraisal by re-known Metro Detroit appraiser “Top Hat John” John Jendza III in 2010. This is a concourse show quality build that is a real head turner, but it also is a great turn-key driver with awesome performance.
