1977 Porsche 911

Neuneifer or Nine-Eleven is a two door high performance rear engine sports car that has been in steady production since September 1964 out of Germany. Yes, the 911 has changed over the years in design but the same classic look is there. In fact, the largest change that the 911 went through is in 1999/99 when the production shifted from air-cooled to water cooled technology. The “Mid-Year” cars as referred to amongst enthusiasts are the cars built from 1974 through 1977. This would be a tough year for every manufacturer around the world and would bring significant changes to the 911 to meet safety and emissions regulations. It would also make impact bumpers mandatory for all cars and would be not a great look for cars….especially sports cars!. This particular driver quality 911 S comes out of long term ownership and was a California car to starts. Our consignor bought the 911 in California in 1991 and has never driven the car in the winter. In fact, he has only put about 8,000 miles on the car in the over thirty year ownership. This car is a A/C car that is all there and is hooked up but does not blow cold. The radio is a aftermarket unit, the paint has been touched up in some areas over the years and still shines really nice in my opinion. There is a small dent on the rear deck lid and the rockers have stone chips and assorted scratches. The interior is in nice condition with a few things needing some cosmetic attention like the drivers side arm rest and a couple broken vents. There is quite a bit of service on this car with receipts that date back to the 1980's. The car starts right up, shifts great with no popping out of gear or grinding noises. The brakes are great and the tires are nice and soft. (not sure on the age). Has the space saver spare, jack and tools along with a car cover. The car does smoke a little as do a lot of these, usually worn out valve guides and top end stuff. I am pricing this car knowing it needs some items but also know that this is a really nice car to start a very easy light restoration if needed…..Or just drive it.
