1971 Lotus Seven

Between 1957 and 1972 Lotus Cars or Lotus Engineering built the Lotus 7, a small, simple, lightweight, two seater, open-top, open-wheel sports car. It embodies what the company wanted in a car. It was highly successful with more than 2,500 cars being sold its first year, its appeal was that it was street legal that could be used for clubman racing on the weekends. In 1958 a 0-60 test was done and the results for the time were pretty amazing. The Lotus could get it done in 6-seconds…This particular little ride was acquired by our seller in 2012. The car had already been campaigned in VSCDA and SVRA events and continued under ownership until just a few years ago. It is powered by a 1.6 Liter Ford Kent Crossflow mated to a 4-speed manual, in addition has a Coolshirt system, roll bar, MSD electronic ignition, Panasport wheels and comes with a mountain of spare parts like stock rear end, stock engine, spare engine block and basically everything you need to build a second engine…We have the full parts list that comes with the car and will be more than happy to send you that. That being said, the buyer will need to make sure that the spare parts will need a another form of transportation at will not fit in the car. This thing is a blast to drive and it is quick.
