1978 Mercedes-Benz 240D

The W123 was and is the most successful Mercedes Benz ever sold, selling 2.7 million units in eleven years from 1975-1986. The reason for the success is a multitude of reasons beginning with the absolute classic and attractive design and the most important reason is for the durability, especially the diesel variants. These cars are still a common sight being used in third world countries being used as taxi cabs, exceeding 500,000 miles with only minor mechanical issues along the way.
