The GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1974 Volkswagen Beetle for your consideration. This one of a kind Volkswagen Beetle has been extensively modified making this the perfect vehicle for a thrill seeker looking for something nobody else has. The most notable change that has been made to this Beetle is swapping out the factory equipped four-cylinder boxer engine for a 5.7L V8 that sends the power to the rear wheels through a TCI Automotive TH350 Automatic transmission. The engine has been treated to Edelbrock heads and valve covers, custom headers, Edelbrock AVS2 carburetor, and much more. Coilover suspension has been fitted to the narrowed four-link rear end giving this Beetle great off the line performance. This is a one of a kind vehicle for the enthusiast who is looking to buy something truly unique.

This Volkswagen was able to achieve this new front engine setup due to a new chassis that the body sits on which allows this little Beetle to accommodate the additional power. The exterior is finished in white over a black cloth interior. The exterior shows well with some signs of use and enjoyment by the previous owner. The interior features new driver and passenger cloth bucket seats which are both manually adjustable.

With the design team being led by the legendary Ferdinand Porsche the Beetle was completed in 1938 and was the longest-running and most manufactured car of a single platform ever made with over 21 million Beetles being produced. It was introduced as one of the first rear-engined cars since the Brass Era as a car for the people to highlight the country's new road network, the Reichsautobahn. The original concept behind the first Volkswagen, the company, and its name is the notion of a people's car – a car affordable and practical enough for common people to own. Hence the name, which is literally "people's car" in German.
