GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1975 Pontiac Trans Am for your consideration. It is powered by the original 400ci V8 motor which has been rebuilt to produce more power than it came from the factory with. While the motor used the original block, it has new parts purchased from Butler Engineering. It has custom domed pistons with forged I-beam connecting rods, Comp Cams Extreme Energy camshaft, hydraulic lifters and PRW roller tip rockers, a 60psi oil pump, FlowKooler high volume water pump, Carter high volume fuel pump, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, Holley 750cfm carburetor, and MSD ignition system. Shifting the gears is an automatic TH350 transmission that also is original to the car. The motor fires right up and has no issues pulling the car down the road with ease.
In 2016 this example of the Firebird Trans Am went through a body restoration and was repainted in the original color of Sterling Silver and replacement of the correct Orange “Screaming Eagle” hood decal. Providing a nice accent to the exterior is the black vinyl interior that received new carpeting during the 2016 restoration. Accompanying this awesome vehicle is the original Bill of Sale from Anderson Motor Company of Aurora, Missouri, original application for registration and title, and complete Pontiac Historical Society documentation.
When you think of American automotive icons many go straight to the muscle cars of the mid-to-late 1960s. With cars like the Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, Barracuda, and even AMC Javelin making tons of power from large V8 motors the 1960s were a great time for American car manufacturers. This sadly changed during the 70s though. New federal regulations mandated the use of catalytic converters on production vehicles which caused there to be a significant reduction in horsepower. In 1975 the Firebird stood alone as one of the last remaining American performance cars. To prove this point, the 1975 Mustang was built on a Pinto platform with the top engine being a 2.8L V6 that produced a mere 105 horsepower. Now is your chance to take home an upgraded example of one of the last American Muscle cars. Please call or email with any questions or for additional information.
