GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SX for your consideration. The Cutlass Supreme SX was fitted with Oldsmobile's legendary Rocket 455ci V8 mated to a Turbo-Hydra-matic 400 automatic transmission. Needless to say, this classic Olds' has no issue moving itself down the road at a quick pace with its powerful big block motor under the hood. The motor fires right up without hesitation and idles smoothly. Exhaust is routed out the rear of the vehicle through the same dual-exhaust setup that was found on the famous Oldsmobile 4-4-2.

Finished in the original Viking Blue exterior over white leather interior this is a beautiful example. It rides on the factory Super Stock wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Interior features include woodgrain trim on the dashboard, four spoke steering wheel, power steering, power brakes, and the factory cassette player. This example is the recipient of a frame off restoration and sports new tires, carpets, shocks, struts, and radiator. Even the convertible top is in working condition! Accompanying the vehicle is the original jack, lug wrench, manual, warranty paperwork, and the correct Protect-O-Plate.

The Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SX is a unique model that not many know about. Some believe Oldsmobile created this model to deceive insurance companies by not putting the engine displacement in plain sight by coding it into the VIN. Instead, Oldsmobile opted to put “42” in the second and third place on the VIN which just denoted “Oldsmobile V8” as opposed to giving the direct engine displacement as many classic muscle cars have. The Cutlass Supreme SX was only offered with the TH400 automatic transmission. Further separating the SX from the standard Cutlass' are the SX badges located on the dash and front fenders. 1971 was the final year the legendary 4-4-2 was offered as a separate model before it was converted into a trim level. The SX is fitted with many of the awesome traits of the 4-4-2 without the recognition of the model. SX's are beginning to gain recognition and popularity among collectors as an awesome muscle car that originally flew under the radar of many. The SX is uncommon compared to the 4-4-2. Production numbers only totaled 9,374 with under half being convertibles.Only 357 Cutlass Supreme SX Convertibles were produced in 1971. Now is your chance to take home this great example of an awesome car. Please call or email with any questions or for additional information.
