1969 Empi Imp

In 1964 a gentleman by the name of Bruce Meyers designed a fiberglass body kit car using the VW Beetle chassis known as the Meyers Manx but would be referred to as the “Dune Buggy”. There would be many copy cat companies that would build there variant of the dune buggy and would be referred to as a clone. The Imp by EMPI an acronym for Engineered Motor Products, Inc, the company that became synonymous with VW aftermarket parts since the mid 1950's was very Manx-esque. This particular Imp is completely over-the-top. I have never seen such a quality concourse type build of a dune buggy ever. This electrical in this thing is something to drool over. This is a nut and bolt rotisserie restoration with stunning paint, interior, awesome lighting and even a better stereo system. The engine build is incredible with its very powerful 1776 engine that has fuel supplied by a dual webber set up and all the rest of the goodied. There is too much to list but we have full documentation with pictures and receipts of the entire build. As many of you know most of these things were built in the back yards of peoples homes and when VIN restrictions were loose. This is titled as a 1967 Home made vehicle out of Florida, there is a VIN tag as shown in the pictures. There is also a manufacturers tag and number that show this as being a 1969. There are several reasons for this. Bottom line, it has a free and clear title from Florida with matching VIN plate. Please inquire with any questions. No, this is not a $15,000 machine.
