1965 Pontiac GTO

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1965 Pontiac GTO Hardtop! The GTO is one of the most popular muscle cars of all time and rightly so with its big horsepower engines and sleek lines. This car came out of the Pontiac, MI assembly plant in 1965. There were 75,352 total GTO's produced in '65 with 55,722 being hardtop coupes and this is an option “5N” car designating it as a real GTO.

The car is powered by its 389ci V8 which is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. This GTO runs, drives, and handles exceptionally well. It rides on a set of aftermarket wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle ST tires. Other highlights include a Hurst shifter, bucket seats, power steering, and power brakes with disc brakes in the front. The selling owner notes that they added power steering to the vehicle. The seats, dashboard, wood trim, and all brightwork are in great condition.

According to the cowl tag, this GTO was produced during the first week of April as a true GTO. Also, true to the tag is the black interior which as previously mentioned is in exceptional condition. This example was originally painted Reef Turquoise but now sports a coat of Montero Red paint.

The Pontiac GTO is an American icon and the GTO is credited as being the first “Muscle Car”. The car offered here is a fantastic driving example that is ready for just about anything.
