The 914 for Porsche is an opportunity to take a deep look into the soul of a manufacture that was on the cusp of either letting go or making a significant run as the top sports car brand of the times. Lucky for us the Porsche brand survived and has produced and engineered some of the most inspiring vehicles of the day. The Carrera, 914, 928, 944, 916, Cayenne and Cayman are all owed a bit of gratitude to the 914 as it was the car that kept the machine running in Germany to provide a steady flow of sales to the company to make it thru the hard times and able to go after the future models.

Very pleased to bring to market this sharp and well cared for 1973 Porsche 914 with a very recent engine upgrade from the stock 1.7L to equivalent to a 2.0L Vehicle starts and runs excellent with strong acceleration, easy shifting between gears and solid braking with front disc brakes. The car spent a fair amount of time in Georgia before making its way up to Michigan. Major engine rebuild of over $15k was invested about 2yrs ago and pictures provide an idea of the extent of the rebuild. Factory spec was a 1.7L but now is closer to a 2.0L and pushing over 140HP. While keeping its original block, the seller implemented a new exhaust system, clutch, fuel pump, improved cam shaft, Webber carburetors, and more. Inside, you will notice a very clean black leatherette interior that is stated to be in well above average condition for its age and mileage. Only one minor area of rust is present near the passenger seat area of this otherwise rust-free car. Although unconfirmed, the seller believes that the interior received a professional restoration at some point in its life due to its crisp nature. All components work as they should including the original radio, pop up headlights and dash instruments.

These are becoming difficult to find as the market has been very strong for anything that has the Porsche logo mounted to it. They are fun to drive, exciting to push to the limit and overall an inexpensive sports car with only a large upside for the owner. Vehicle is ready for the next adventure and will be a fun and enjoyable ownership experience for the next owner.
