1971 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne

A new, more modern look came for 1967 model line of trucks, along with a new nickname: "Action Line". Numerous changes occurred in 1971. First came another new grille design (the "egg crate") for Chevrolet trucks and black paint over portions of the GMC grille. Second, an additional trim package was introduced: the Cheyenne. Finally, the front brakes on all light-duty trucks were switched from drum brakes to disc brakes, resulting in much less brake fade under heavy use. The 1972 models were very similar to the 1971 models, with the only change being the rear view mirror was glued to the windshield rather than bolted to top of the cab, and metal or vinyl-covered flat door panels were no longer available; all trim level door panels were molded plastic with integral armrests and wood grain inserts on Cheyenne and Sierra trim levels.

Vehicle was purchased new out of North Dakota and remained as a family truck from 1971 till recently acquired by us from the son of the original owner. This truck has been cared for and enjoyed. The quote from the son was “My dad bought this truck to get stuff done, when he died I got the truck to get stuff done” The truck is in very nice shape but also very original other than a fresh paint job in the proper colors done in 2008. In 2018 the son brought the truck to his mechanic and said I want to drive this truck to visit my daughter in Texas, fix anything it needs. His mechanic called him back 2 days later and said your truck is ready and only thing it needed was some fresh gas and an oil change.

Optioned from the factory when new it had; heavy duty front springs, hydraulic brake booster, 15in steel wheels with belted tires, side mounted spare, oil pressure gauge, voltage meter, temp gauge, white/Dark Blue two tone paint, moldings, front stabilizer, posi-trac axle, 350ci V8, power steering, full wheel covers, AM push button stereo, blue vinyl interior.

During out test drive and inspection the car performed just about flawless. All gauges were working properly and the car drove smooth and straight. Horn, lights, turn signals, fan, radio, wipers, and even the cigarette lighter all functioned properly. These good ole trucks are becoming very hard to find and one that is this authentic and nicely sorted are only going up in value. The truck still has the factory chalk marks on the firewall, period correct gun rack on rear window and properly side mounted spare. Aftermarket Frigette Air system was added in the mid 2000's and according to previous owner is working properly.
