This is actually the story of a Mrs. Marianne Ravencraft who bought her beloved 1968 Ford Mustang brand new on July 12, 1968 from Colonial Ford in National City, CA. She bought a Sunlit Gold over Nugget Gold 6-Cylinder and would have this car until her passing in 2001 and rack up over 100,000 miles in her beloved Mustang. This car was built in San Jose and spent up until 1984 in Southern CA where Mrs. Ravencraft would retire as head operating room nurse at Pontiac General Hospital. After she retired she moved to Northern Michigan to spend time around some family and would continue to driver her beloved “Betsy” during the nice summer months. After her passing in 2001 the car remained with family but the car was stored during that time not getting much use. In 2017 the car was sold to a neighbor where he then proceeded to get the car back out on the road to enjoy occasionally. At this time, the seller which was only the second owner for this car re-did the fuel system including new tank, lines and pump. He replaced the radiator, new brakes and wheel cylinders and and a set of new tires. He also cleaned up the engine compartment. I personally just drove this car fifty miles recently and had a blast. Not only is the car smooth and quiet with the exception of a very small exhaust manifold leak, which appears to be a gasket and not the manifold itself. The other awesome thing about this car is from I can tell almost all stock with original patina paint. It appears at some point there was a minor incident that had to have the headlight bezel replaced and a re-painted passenger front fender but the fender still appears to be original as are the rest of the body panels. This thing is dry dry dry. Yes there is pitting in the chrome, yes the paint is thing in spots and discoloring in others but this is probably one of the coolest driven time capsules with a awesome story I have come across in a long time. There are no hidden demons here. The A/M radio works as do all the lights and heat. The car starts on a dime and does not leak a drop of oil. The interior is probably the biggest concern as has seen the most amount of wear and tear. The car comes with the original registration matching the original owner info in the owners manual, some earlier service paperwork and a car cover. If you want a car with a story, this is it.
