The introduction of the C5 Vette was a huge success and with the U.S. economy in a boom, dealers were selling these faster than the plant in Bowling Green could keep up. This led to significant dealer markups which allowed the value of these to rise drastically for the first few years of production. With 4-wheel independent suspension to go along with speed sensitive power rack & pinion steering, the handling of the C5 vette was unmatched by any affordable sports car. 1999 is the first year for the fixed roof coupe which later on becomes the Zo6 in 2001. Power comes from a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 5.7-liter LS1 V8 was factory rated at 345 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, and is linked to the rear-mounted 6-speed manual transaxle by a rigid torque tube. The Fiberglass bodywork is finished in Torch Red. Factory Double-staggered 5-spoke alloy wheels. Factory equipment includes power windows and locks, a GM-Bose stereo, and automatic climate control. The interior is trimmed in black leather and shows very well. This is an excellent car ready for immediate enjoyment.
