1969 Buick Skylark

The second generation Buick Skylark was introduced in 1968 and was based on GM's ubiquitous A-body that also underpinned Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac models. Available as a sedan, coupe, hardtop sedan and coupe, and a convertible. The standard motor for the Skylark Custom was the new 350cid V8 that used a 2bbl Rochester Carb that produced 230hp. Upgraded motors included a 400cid and 455cid V8s. While always in the shadow of the hot Chevelles and GTOs, the Skylark still held its own in sales and was a strong seller until its replacement in 1972.

Overall, the body is in great shape and is free of rot and damage, the paint quality is very nice but not perfect. Chrome and plastic trim is present and account for and is very presentable as well. The convertible top is older but in good shape and the plastic rear window is easy to see through. 15in Weld racing wheels are fitted with Cooper Cobra tires and add a bit of sportiness to the car. The interior features comfortable black vinyl seats that are in great shape. An aftermarket Kenwood Stereo is fitted and a pair of extra speakers sit in the rear seat. An extra gauge pack with oil and water temp is mounted on the lower dash. The factory wheel is unique and in excellent condition.

Fitted with a smooth and powerful 400cid V8 engine mated to an automatic transmission, this Buick is a comfortable and quick cruiser and would make the perfect summer driver. Stand out from the sea of Chevelles at your next cars and coffee!
