1975 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40

Toyota almost made a 25 year run on the 40 Series. Most of them were built as 2-door utility vehicle with slightly larger dimensions than that of a Jeep CJ. They did however build a few different variants like a longer wheel base or “troop carrier” and they also build a truck variant as well knows as the FJ-45.

Depending on where you were at in the World, you also had a few different engine options that were offered like diesel or petrol powered variants as well as 3-speed, 4-speed manuals and automatic transmissions.

The early versions of the standard FJ-40's were mostly powered by the 3.8Liter F engine with 3-speed manual. And because of the low horsepower and lack of top-end speed due to the 3-speed that was offered on these earlier models they made a great candidate for a engine and transmission swap with the extra ground clearance and perfect wheel base for 4-wheel capability it was a easy fix.

This particular FJ comes from the dry west where a conversion was done back in 1995. The Warden brothers started off with a perfectly dry and rust free body and put a SBC and GM transmission. It is mated to a stock transfer case and a ARB locking rear was added.

In addition to the extreme off-road capability that just comes natural and the near flawless and trouble-free small block Chevrolet conversion that was professionally done, this cruiser also comes with a winch and CB radio. This Toyota always starts perfectly and goes down the road better than when it was new. There is no-rust or rot anywhere and is ready to go.
