1968 Triumph Spitfire

With the introduction of the Austin Healey Sprite and the MG Midget, both rivals of Triumph, They designed a new low-priced sports car with the help of Italian car designer Giovanni Michelotti. So, with his help and a catchy name derived from the British fighter plane they had a new automobile that was cost effective to build but also buy.

The first generation cars were beautiful but lacked power and even the MK II's here in the US were lack luster due to pollution and smog regulations put on by our government.

These cars have received small but numerous design changes over the years and were built all they way from 1962-1980.

People throughout the years have loved the looks but not so much the lack of power. That is why the last owner of this car has changed the engine to a 2.0 Inline 6-cylinder out of a Triumph GT-6 that makes this car boogey. The engine swap is neat and clean and runs excellent. The car shifts and brakes well and is ready to be enjoyed.
